Abstract:
Objective To explore the difference of clinical using time of fluorouracil powder and injection in portable infusion pump, and analyze the reasons, so as to guide clinical medication.
Methods Under ideal laboratory conditions and filtering or no filtering, the infusion time, osmotic pressure, pH value, clarity and content of fluorouracil injection and fluorouracil powder in portable infusion pump were determined, which may affect the flow rate of pharmaceutical properties.
Results Compared with the continuous infusion of different fluorouracil powder injection and fluorouracil injection using portable infusion pump, fluorouracil powder injection has prolonged the infusion time. And different brand powder injection also has bigger difference, such as fluorouracil A 57 h, fluorouracil B 90 h, this is consistent with clinical use. Before the liquid was filtered, the clinical infusion speed of the two kinds of fluorouracil powder was significantly different. However, after filtration, the infusion speed of the two kinds of fluorouracil powder was basically the same as that of fluorouracil injection, and there was no significant difference in drug concentration, osmotic pressure, and pH value. Combined with the clarity test results of the drug solution, the main factor affecting the infusion time of fluorouracil powder injection in the portable infusion pump is the presence of non-drug active excipients in the preparation.
Conclusions The infusion speed of fluorouracil powder and injection in the clinical use of portable infusion pump is significantly different. The main reason for the difference in the clinical use of fluorouracil powder from different manufacturers is the difference in preparation and excipients, which suggests that attention should be paid to clinical use.
