Abstract:
Objective:Based on a large sample of a single center health examination personnel in a tertiary hospital in Shanghai, to analyze the anemia status in healthy people and therefore to provide basis for health assessment and management of anemia patients. Methods:This study were per-formed based on 23 755 people undergoing physical examination in Huashan Hospital, Fudan University from 2016 to 2017. The patients were divided into different groups according to age, sex, and the severity of anemia. Results:A total of 611 patients with anemia were detected, the detection rate was 2.78%. The detection rate of anemia in females was 4.96% (607/12 231), which was significantly higher than that in males (0.47%, 54/11 524, P<0.05). The detection rate of female anemia increased gradually with age, which was the highest in females of 45-49 years old, 25.70% (156/607). The degree of anemia in both genders was mainly mild anemia, accounting for 78.82% (521/661), and microcytic hypochromic anemia were the major type, accounting for 87.75% (580/661). Conclusions:Anemia is a common disease among women, which needs regularly examination and early treatment.
