Abstract:
Objective To explore the current status of life expectancy of immediate family members of patients with advanced lung cancer, and to analyze the influencing factors.
Methods 318 patients with advanced lung cancer were diagnozed and treatment in Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Tongji University from January 2019 to June 2021, and their each one immediate family member was enrolled. The general demographic data, social support and life expectancy of the subjects were investigated using the self-designed general information questionnaire, the social support rating scale and the Herth hope scale. Univariate analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze influence factors of life expectancy level of immediate family members of patients with advanced lung cancer.
Results The average Herth hope scale of the immediate family members of patients with advanced lung cancer was 36.58±4.87. The multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, length of care patient, monthly income per capita, and social support were influencing factors of the life expectancy of immediate family members of patients with advanced lung cancer (P < 0.05).
Conclusion The immediate family members of patients with advanced lung cancer scored moderately in life expectancy, and strengthening the psychological intervention of family members and helping them to obtain social support may further improve their life expectancy.
