Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical application of ultrasound-guided biopsy in the diagnosis of plasmacytoma.
Methods Thirty-three patients with plasmacytoma diagnosed by ultrasound-guided needle biopsy were included in Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University from September 2014 to July 2021.The clinical manifestations, imaging data, pathological results, and complications of patients were summarized, and the effect of ultrasound-guided needle biopsy on the diagnosis of plasmacytoma was analyzed.
Results Lesion distribution was heterogeneous including 21(63.6%) in thoracic cavity, 3(9.1%) in abdominal pelvic, 2(6.1%) in head and neck region, 3(9.1%) in lymph node, 4(12.1%) in limbs and other regions.The ultrasound-guided needle biopsy was successful in all the patients, and adequate tissues were obtained from them.There was no obvious complications happened during the follow-up time of one year after ultrasound-guided biopsy.
Conclusions For the suspected plasmacytoma patients, ultrasound-guided needle biopsy is safe, efficient, convenient, and has high diagnosis accurate rate, which could provide help for early diagnosis and effective treatment.
