Abstract:
Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics and related laboratory indexes changes of patients with human adenovirus-7 (HAdV-7) infection, and the changes of white blood cell, procalcitonin and lymphocyte subpopulations after infection, so as to provide reference for the prevention and control of adenovirus infection and clinical diagnosis and treatment.
Methods All the exposed 524 adults were included, the HAdV-7 nucleic acid was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and the clinical characteristics, blood routine indexes, procalcitonin and lymphocyte subgroups were statistically analyzed for 30 d.
Results A total of 73 infected patients with HAdV-7 were male and 19-33 years old. The main clinical symptoms were fever (100.0%) and pharyngeal pain (68.5%). In the infection group, white blood cell count and PCT increased, and the proportions of total CD3+T cell and CD3+CD4+T cell and the ratio of CD4/CD8 decreased, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The highest value of WBC was at day 6, the highest value of PCT was at day 3, the total CD3+T cells in the 3rd, 6th and 9th day, the ratios of CD3+CD4+T cells and the CD4/CD8 decreased (P < 0.05).
Conclusion HAdV-7 infection is onset of acute, the main symptom is fever and sore throat. WBC, PCT and lymphocyte subsets change with the progression of the disease.
