Abstract:
Objective To explore the effects of LigaSure vessel sealing system for the surgical treatment of giant neurofibroma.
Methods From October 2013 to May 2020, 22 patients with giant neurofibroma underwent operation were divided into LigaSure group (n=10) and the traditional method group (n=12). The size of the tumor, duration of the operation, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage fluid, drainage tube removal time, and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.
Results Compared with the traditional method group, the intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage fluid were less, and drainage tube removal time was earlier in the LigaSure group (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in the size of resected tumor, duration of operation, and pre- and post-operative difference of hemoglobin concentration between the two groups. One patient in the traditional method group happended subcutaneous hydrops after the operation, while no patient happended postoperation complication.
Conclusion LigaSure vessel sealing system could be used safely in surgical treatment of giant neurofibroma, simplify the surgery process, and shorten recovery time.
