Abstract:
Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of outpatients from cardio-oncology multidisciplinary ambulatory service based on single clinical center.
Methods Data of cardio-oncology outpatients from Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University from April 2018 to December 2020 were collected and analyzed.
Results Among the 343 patients included, 222 were female, with an average age of (59.2±12.1) years. The top primary tumor types of patients were breast cancer (35.9%), lung cancer (21.3%), gastric cancer (5.5%), colorectal cancer (5.5%), connective tissue and soft tissue malignancy (5.0%), and liver cancer (4.4%). The main purposes of patients' consultation included assessment and management of cardiovascular adverse reactions, risk evaluation of antitumor therapy for patients combined with underlying cardiovascular diseases, treatment and symptomatic management of primary or metastatic heart tumors, etc.
Conclusions According to the epidemiological survey results, the team will further optimize team structure, enrich the monitoring methods, improve the diagnosis and treatment process, and improve the prognosis and quality of life of cardio-oncology patients.
