Abstract:
Fibroblast growth factor-10 (FGF-10) regulates cell proliferation, migration, differentiation, apoptosis, and participates in the occurrence of various lung diseases. FGF-10 can promote injury repair, inhibit fibrosis, and promote lung mesenchymal stem cell proliferation and mobilization. FGF-10 has protective effects on acute lung injury and airway damage caused by various stimuli. Therefore, local administration of recombinant FGF-10 protein into the lung may become a new strategy for the treatment of certain respiratory diseases. This paper reviews the value and potential prospects of application of FGF-10 in prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases.
