Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of external cardioversion (ECV) on arial fibrillation (AF) in patients with left atrial appendage occluder (LAAO).
Methods From May 2016 to December 2019, we enrolled fifty-one patients with LAAO who received ECV for AF in Beijing Hospital, seven patients (13.7%) received ECV, observed the effect of the device and ECV associated adverse events.
Results A total of 51 patients were successfully implanted with the LAAO, among whom 7 patients (13.7%) received ECV after implantation. During the perioperative period, the LAAO did not shift or fall off, and no serious events occurred.
Conclusion ECV for AF seems to be safe and effective in patients with LAAO.
