Abstract:
Objective To apply combined interventional embolization and surgical resection to treat children with giant head and face arteriovenous hemangioma.
Methods A case of giant head and face arteriovenous hemangioma treated by interventional embolization combined with surgical resection was selected from the Children's Hospital of Fudan University. The related diagnosis and treatment process and image data were summarized to analyze the feasibility of its diagnosis and treatment plan.
Results The lesions were successfully removed, the intraoperative bleeding was controllable, the postoperative wound healed well, the flap vitality was normal, and the appearance of the child was satisfactory.
Conclusions Interventional embolization combined with surgical resection is a safe and effective treatment for pediatric head and facial arteriovenous hemangioma. Reasonable formulation of embolization and surgical plan is the key of successful treatment.
