Abstract:
Objective To study the characteristics of internal medicine inpatient diseases in an ultra-high altitude area of Tibet.
Methods The clinical data of medical inpatients from November 2016 to September 2019 in Gangba County People's Hospital of Tibet were collected for statistical analysis.
Results A total of 164 inpatients, 101 males and 63 females, were collected. The average age of inpatients was (51.10±14.45) years. On average, the patients had (3.66±2.04) kinds of diseases, and the elderly patients over 60 years old had (4.82±2.09) kinds of diseases on average. Totally, 68%(112/164) patients had more than 3 diseases. The top 9 diseases were hypertension, chronic bronchitis, viral hepatitis B, cardiac insufficiency, high altitude polycythemia, cirrhosis, tuberculosis, peptic ulcer with bleeding and hydatidosis.
Conclusions There are many kinds of diseases in internal medicine inpatients of ultra-high altitude area, which are also serious and harmful to the population. It's necessary to do a good job in the prevention and treatment of the top 9 kinds of medical diseases.
