Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the feasibility and safety of preperitoneal repair of tissue defect with biological mesh after tumor resection in the iliac fossa and groin regions. Methods:The clinical data of 11 patients who were diagnosed as ilioinguinal tumor in Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center from January 2016 to October 2018 were retrospective analyzed. Results:Wounds in all cases healed in the stageⅠ, with a postoperative hospital stay time of 7-21 days (median of 13 days). During the follow-up time of 1-35 months after surgery, there was no incisional hernia or abdominal wall bulge. Ten patients had mild pain of the mesh fixed position, while the symptom disappeared in 2-4 weeks after operation. One patient had tumor recurrence. Conclusions:Preperitoneal repair of tissue defect with biological mesh may be safe and feasible after ilioinguinal tumor resection, and the short-term clinical efficacy is satisfactory, while the long-term results need further follow-up.
