Abstract:
Objective:To study the structure of ectopic bone formed beside the NewZealand rabbit femoral bone. Methods:Bone marrow stroma stem cells (BMSCs) were taken from NewZealand rabbits to built engineered bone constructs, the constructs were embedded near the rabbit femoral bone, the ectopic bone constructs were harvested at 8th week for further examination and study. Results:At 8th week, the ectopic bone had a clear bonelike structure, together with new blood supply, green fluorescent protein could be seen in samples seeded by marked cells. Conclusions:This study showed that the ectopic bone formation could be successful in vivo.
