Research progress of nanoparticle targeting strategy in diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerosis

The morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular diseases in China are increasing year by year. The unstable atherosclerosis (AS) plaque and plaque rupture are major factors leading to death in patients with cardiovascular diseases. With the progress of nanomedicine, targeted diagnosis and treatment of AS with nanoparticles (NPs) has shown its advantages and has attracted researchers’ attention in recent years.
