Research progress on the mechanism of itch sensitization in atopic dermatitis

  • Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by pruritus. Small stimulation can induce patient's hyperactive desire to scratch, which is manifested as itch sensitization. Itch sensitization includes hyperknesis and alloknesis. The joint action of nerve, immunity and skin barrier leads to the occurrence of itch sensitization. This article reviews the research progress in the sensitization mechanism of atopic skin itching in recent years.
