Advances in the application of supermicrosurgery based on superficial circumflex iliac artery perforator flap in oncology plastic surgery

  • With the continuous progress of microsurgery technology, the development of supermicrosurgery has made the operation more microscopic. Postoperative quality of life for cancer patients is becoming a major social issue. And as a less invasive tumor repair and reconstruction technology, supermicrosurgery has better functional reconstruction and has attracted widespread attention. Supermicrosurgery can perform anastomosis on blood vessels, lymphatics, and nerves with a 0.8 mm or smaller diameter. Therefore, the free skin flap can use nameless blood vessels from any part of the flap to repair the defect with vascularized tissue and achieve minimally invasive reconstruction trully. Supermicrosurgery for lymphatic reconstruction play an important role in the prevention and treatment of lymphatic diseases after tumor surgery. This article reviews the principle and application of supermicrosurgery based on SCIP flap and its value in oncology plastic surgery.
