Effect of enhanced recovery after surgery on postoperative rehabilitation after laparoscopic surgery in patients with endometrial carcinoma

Objective To analyze the clinical effects of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) on perioperative period of laparoscopic surgery in patients with endometrial carcinoma.

Methods Totally, 92 patients with endometrial cancer undergoing laparoscopic surgery were randomly divided into ERAS group and control group (n=46 in each group). The patients in the control group were given routine nursing, and the patients in group ERAS were treated with the idea of ERAS, the postoperative rehabilitation of the two groups was analyzed.

Results The time to ambulation, first flatus, first defecation, average hospital stay, and average expenditure in the ERAS group were significantly shorter or less than those of the control group (all P < 0.05), and the incidence of complications in ERAS group was lower than that of the control group(P < 0.05).

Conclusions ERAS is safe and effective for patients with endometrial cancer undergoing laparoscopic surgery, which may promote the rehabilitation, reduce postoperative hospital stay and the overall cost.
