Research progress in magnetically targeted stem cell delivery with SPIONs

  • Stem cells play an important role in selfrenewal and repair of tissues and organs. Under the influence of the external magnetic field, labeling the stem cells with magnetic nanoparticles can increase the directional homing and retention of the stem cells, thereby amplifying the repair effect of the stem cells. In this paper, the principle of magnetic nanoparticles targeting stem cells and its progress in the application of various pathological models are reviewed.
