Abstract:Cancer cachexia is a complex metabolic syndrome which is characterized by muscle wasting, fat decomposition, unplanned weight loss, anorexia and immune dysfunction. Cachexia can significantly reduce the efficacy of antitumor therapies and increase treatment-related toxicity in cancer patients. It increases the symptom burden of patients, affects the quality of their life, ultimately shortens their survival time. This article reviews the research progress of diagnosis and treatment of cancer cachexia. |
