Abstract:Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) is the most sensitive quantitative technique for evaluating the regional iron accumulation in brains of patients with Parkinson disease (PD) among the current magnetic resonance sequences, which has obvious advantages in the differential diagnosis of PD, evaluation of disease duration, brain structure imaging, and surgical treatments, etc. This review summarizes the applications of QSM in diagnosis and treatment of PD, to help clinicians further understand and apply this technology better.
