Abstract:The CLASS-01 trial is a milestone to minimal invasive radical gastrectomy in homeland, and provides Chinese experience for the clinical application of locally advanced gastric cancer. Some misunderstanding appeared causing by differential regional economic development, varied number of patients admitted, uneven minimally invasive rate or skill level, and misreading of the original paper. Some details of this trial are discussed in this paper. This paper is looking forward to more high-level evidence-based medical evidence which will guide China's gastric surgeons to make rational use of laparoscopic technique in distal advanced gastric cancer.
