Abstract:Objective:To investigate the level of clusterin and inflammation reaction in patients of nephrolithiasis. Methods:Clinical materials, blood and urine samples of inpatients with nephrolithiasis and healthy adults were collected from Jul to Sep 2015 in Shanghai Changhai Hospital, and ELISA tests were conducted to detect serum and urine clusterin level, as well as serum inflammation biomarkers, to make comparison between both groups. Results:47 cases with median age of 43.00(33.50-50)yrs and 56 cases with median age of 38.50(32.50-53.00)yrs were recruited in the stone and control group respectively, and there were no statistically significant differences between two groups in age and sex(P>0.05). Serum clusterin level was lower in renal stone patients than the control group [156.85(151.51-195.09)ng/ml vs. 171.48(151.51-195.09)ng/ml, P<0.01], while urine clusterin level had no statistical significance compared with the control group [52.76(42.66-57.37)ng/ml vs. 53.37(44.40-68.07)ng/ml, P>0.05]. Serum IL-1β level was higher in renal stone patients than the control group [17.92(16.26-19.18)ng/L vs. 13.55(12.06-17.76)ng/L, P<0.01], and serum IL-6 level was also higher in renal stone patients than the control group [53.22(46.04-71.46)ng/L vs. 46.58(42.34-52.63)ng/L, P<0.01]. Conclusion:Serum clusterin was lowered and level of inflammation reaction was increased in patients of nephrolithiasis. |
