Abstract:Surgical decompression of the lumbar canal in patients with significant symptoms of claudication or radicular pain and a radiological diagnosis of canal stenosis is both efficacious and well tolerated with sustained long term benefits. In recent years, the methods of minimally invasive decompression for lumbar stenosis are increasing in number as the minimally invasive spine surgical technology advances. Compared with traditional surgery, it has advantages including less tissue trauma and rapider rehabilitation, but it also has its limitations. This article summarizes the present situation and progress of minimally invasive technique for the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis.
