Abstract: |
Objective: To investigate the current status of anxiety, depression, and self-management in patients with soft tissue sarcoma undergoing first-line chemotherapy and to analyze their correlations. Methods: A total of 100 patients diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma and undergoing first-line chemotherapy in the oncology department of our hospital from July 2023 to February 2024 were selected. Patient information was collected through a general information questionnaire, the Anxiety Self-Rating Scale, the Depression Self-Rating Scale, and the Cancer Patient Self-Management Evaluation Scale. Spearman correlation analysis and multiple linear regression was used to explore the correlations between variables, aiming to understand the relationship between anxiety, depression, and self-management in this population. Results: Among patients undergoing first-line chemotherapy for soft tissue sarcoma, 41 (41%) patients experienced anxiety, and 32 (32%) patients experienced depression. The scores on the patient self-management scale were negatively correlated with patient anxiety and depression overall (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Anxiety and depression in patients undergoing first-line chemotherapy for soft tissue sarcoma are closely related to self-management. Psychological care for this patient population should be emphasized in future nursing work to enhance patient cognition, provide disease-related guidance, and improve their psychological well-being, thereby enhancing patient self-management. |
