Progress in clinical and basic researches on integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment for chronic atrophic gastritis

  • Chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), one of the premalignant conditions of gastric cancer, is a critical stage in the Correa cascade. Its risk of malignant transformation has attracted widespread attention in both clinical and basic research. Modern medicine treatments are limited by problems such as insufficient pathological reversal and adverse effects of long-term medication. In contrast, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) guided by holism and syndrome differentiation has unique advantages in alleviating symptoms, delaying or reversing gastric mucosal atrophy and intestinal metaplasia, blocking inflammation-cancer transformation. This article systematically reviews the progress in clinical and basic researches on integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for CAG, aiming to provide the latest reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
