Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between professional identity and job involvement of nursing students, so as to provide theoretical basis for further enriching nursing management. Methods The study recruited nursing students from grade 3 and first-class hospital from July, 2020 to February, 2021 in Shanghai. Basic information on patients and caregivers, a simplified version of the Occupational Identity Rating Scale and the Job Engagement Scale (Utrecht) were used to survey the students. Descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and multiple logistic regression were used for data analysis. Results The total score of professional identity of nursing interns was (102.39±17.50) points, the total score of job involvement was (2.99±1.35) points, and the scores of each dimension from high to low were dedication, vitality and concentration. The professional identity of nursing interns was positively correlated with the score and dimensions of job involvement (P<0.01). Logistic regression analysis of the relationship between professional identity and job involvement showed that the evaluation of professional identity of nursing interns had a significant effect on job involvement (P<0.05). Conclusion The professional identity of nursing interns is correlated with job involvement. The higher the score of professional identity, the higher the level of job involvement. That is to say, improving the professional identity of nursing interns is conducive to improving their job involvement.
